Adult Counselling

Our Support

We offer a grief and loss counselling service either in person at our Centre in Lincoln or for those who prefer or are unable to travel to our Centre, telephone and online counselling.

While we are bereavement and specialists in loss, we also provide counselling for a broad range of difficulties, including anxiety, stress and trauma.  We have counsellors with expertise in SEN, ADHD, Autism, Couples and children.

Counselling can offer you the opportunity to have a safe place to talk about your thoughts and feelings.  It is confidential and the counsellor will not make judgements about you or even offer advice.

Our counsellors will help you talk about how you feel and work with you to develop ways to manage your feelings and symptoms and help you to discover your own solutions to any problems so you can feel more like yourself.

Grief & Loss Counselling

Our Counselling Methods

We offer a talking and listening service to people who are unable to cope following an experience of grief and loss such as bereavement or loss of family life. We also offer counselling for people who have a life limiting illness or a disability, anticipatory grief (when someone is expected to die) and we also help the family members/carers of that person. We support people through relationship breakdowns and many of the difficult challenges that life throws our way.

Sometimes when a person dies our identity changes, for example, from being in a couple to being alone, this is called secondary loss, and we can help you come to terms with these changes. Our counsellors can also help you if you have lost a job or if somebody close to you has moved away.

Our adult counselling is delivered by qualifying final year student counsellors, volunteers and fully qualified counsellors.

Our service is primarily Person Centred and Integrative, this means that what you need to talk about will lie at the heart of our work together, you will not be judged and you will be supported in your counselling journey with us.

We also have an in-house volunteer Psychodynamic Psychotherapist for those seeking longer term work.

If our service is not appropriate for you, we can give you advice or signpost you to an alternative service.

All our counselling staff receive monthly in-house supervision to ensure that they are delivering the best possible service to clients. All our counsellors, students and volunteer counsellors are members or student members of either the BACP or other governing body that we recognise.
