Michaela Ardley

Michaela is the Centre Manager and runs the Lincolnshire Centre for Grief & Loss on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Charity’s Trustees.  She has almost two decades of experience working within the charity sector in Lincolnshire, including Lincoln Cathedral where she worked extensively around the Magna Carta.  Prior to moving to Lincolnshire Michaela was a manager with Norfolk Probation Service. 

Michaela has also sat as a director of a local not-for-profit organisation; she is our Caldicott Guardian, has an adult teaching qualification and is a qualified Careers Adviser.  Michaela is a postgraduate and in her spare time studies Tudor politics, plays the piano, paints and grows bonsai.

Jasmine Chapman

Jasmine is a qualified counsellor and registered member of the BACP. She has been working within LCGL since early 2023, where Jasmine started her placement. During this time, Jasmine has delivered 100 therapeutic hours to adults troubled by grief and loss. This experience aided her in achieving a master’s degree in counselling with Distinction. Jasmine says, “Due to feeling completely supported and grateful for the experience and learning I gained, I endeavoured to stay within LCGL”.

Jasmine now provides grief and loss counselling to children and young people in schools in Lincolnshire as well as working remotely via telephone or online sessions. In her free time, Jasmine enjoys long distance running, reading, and spending time with friends.

Conor Giles

Conor is a qualified compassionate counsellor and is registered member of BACP.  He has been with LCGL since completing his placement. Conor’s approach is rooted in empathy and respect, providing a safe space to explore complex emotions and experiences. Conor says, “I work collaboratively with clients, helping them navigate their grief, build resilience, and find pathways toward healing and renewed hope”. 

As part of his specialised training and a deep understanding of grief theories, Conor offers tailored support to address the diverse needs of those individuals’ experiencing grief and loss. In his spare time Conor has a passion for music and especially enjoys spending free time at live music events. 

Sarah Harley

Sarah is an adult and children’s Counsellor and is a registered member of BACP.  Sarah completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies and Education Studies (2004) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (2005). She has worked in education for a number of years supporting children's learning and wellbeing before beginning her training in counselling.

Sarah joined Lincolnshire Centre for Grief and Loss as a trainee counsellor in 2014 then went on to join the team of Children's Counsellors after qualifying in 2016. Sarah is a Person Centered Therapist committed to providing a safe, empathetic space for the client to explore their experience of grief, loss or separation and help them to find their own way forward.  

Leanne Kennedy

Leanne is a qualified Counsellor and a registered member of BACP working in Lincoln.  Leanne provides a safe and supportive space for children navigating bereavement for LCGL. Leanne also runs her own private practice for adults and couples covering a range of challenges. 

Leanne says, “I understand grief and loss can be a complex and deeply personal experience which is why I am such a passionate supporter of LCGL’s charitable work.  I deeply admire their commitment to providing accessible and compassionate grief support to the community, helping individuals and families navigate loss with dignity and understanding and I am proud to align myself with the charity”.

Natalie Matthews

Natalie is a qualified Counsellor and is a registered member of BACP.   Having counselled adults at LCGL for the past 18 months, Natalie has recently moved across to counselling children. Natalie splits her time between counselling children at LCGL itself or travelling to schools to provide the counselling on behalf of LCGL at a more convenient location for the client. 

Natalie is a counselling graduate and is always looking to further her qualifications and undertake relevant learning experience.  Natalie also has a second job working within a GP attached pharmacy. Between carrying out these roles, Natalie likes to spend time with her son, as well as her many cats, rabbit, snake, and dog!

Pat Punton

Pat has been a qualified counsellor for 14 years and is a registered member of BACP.  For 13 of those years, she has been practicing in grief and loss within the team at LCGL. Pat says, “I am proud to be professionally associated with this countywide charity as it endeavours to move forward to support the Lincolnshire community within this speciality”. 

Pat is passionate about supporting both adults and young people in a safe space, helping them process their feelings and emotions, and to find a personal meaning in their own experience of grief and loss.  Prior to being part of LCGL, Pat had varied careers in the Military and the NHS which has equipped her to help individuals with care and compassion at challenging times in their lives.

Clare Reynolds

Clare is a qualified Counsellor, Clinical Supervisor and a registered member of the BACP. She has worked at LCGL for ten years having started her placement here in 2015. Clare says, “I am passionate about the service and the delivery of grief counselling to both adults and children. I wanted to carry on with LCGL so I began working with children and young people both here at our Centre and in schools throughout Lincolnshire”.

Clare also runs training courses on grief and bereavement which have been delivered to school staff and other members of the public sector to help to upskill them on how to talk to the bereaved.  Clare also helps to facilitate the monthly Support Group here at the Centre. Clare has a degree in psychology and has also recently completed a master’s degree in developmental psychology which has aided her understanding of young people and how their brains develop.  In her spare time Clare enjoys walking, crafting and she is the captain of a local women’s darts team.

James Lowe

James is a qualified Counsellor and is a registered member of BACP, currently studying for an MSc in Counselling at the University of Lincoln. Trained in the person-centred modality, he has developed a strong foundation in grief counselling, complemented by his work with young people in schools and other youth-focused settings. Before moving into counselling, James worked as a primary school teacher for ten years.

His research in education focused on improving students’ levels of hope, creating platforms for young people to share their feelings and aspirations about the world. This experience became a key inspiration for his counselling journey.  Outside of work, James enjoys keeping fit and is often training for one event or another. Whenever possible, he loves trekking and hiking, and he has set himself the light-hearted personal goal, of learning to juggle four balls (though he’s not quite there yet).
